My super simple hair care tips
- Wash your hair a little less. For years I heard… “Don’t wash your hair every day.” I ignored this advice because I didn’t want to have oily hair. Years later I learned that you have to TRAIN your hair! Yes, it will get dirty but over time it will get dirty… slower. It took me years and don’t get grossed out but I only wash my hair every 3 or 4 days! I also, always had what i considered crazy hair. If i didn’t blow dry it, it looked horrible. Then I discovered my favorite hair tool! My hair is now healthier than it’s ever been. I am still working on it.
- Wash your hair twice! Try it, notice the second time it suds up better.
- Condition only on the tips!
- Curl it! When it starts looking bad curl it. Your hair should hold the curls better. It will bring life and volume back to your hair.
- Masks! I only use a mask once a month but I should do it more. Ideally, the best way to do a hair mask is to put it in your hair the night before (if you plan to shower in the morning). Let the mask work all night, rinse in the am and wash twice as normal then in lieu of conditioner condition with the mask again just at the ends.
- Purple Shampoo! If your blonde hair is getting brassy, you should use a purple shampoo and conditioner every few washes. If you are super brassy, use purple TONING shampoo. Don’t forget to wear gloves or you may get purple-tinted skin! Are you a brunette? There are shampoos for you too!
- Dry Shampoo! It’s not just for “old ladies”. Or maybe I’m old now. 😉 I love dry shampoo. It helps extend and train your hair. Pro-tip, use it the first day you wash after you have dried your hair as it will help soak up the oils from the start!
- Purifying Scrub! if you’re washing your hair less, things are building up more. So every few weeks I like to use a scrub purifying scrub.
- Hair Clips! Avoid hair ties, they break your hair!
I’ve linked all the products I LOVE and use below. They ARE affiliate links, FYI.
I have 2 blow-dry brushes. Honestly, I like the Lange one better but the Revlon works just as well. I linked both.
